The turbine hall was 700ft long and 130ft wide and housed six 60 megawatt turbo alternators arranged longitudinally. Each comprised a duel pressure turbine driven alternator cooled by hydrogen at a pressure of 30lb per sq inch, and incorporating direct cooled rotor windings.

Step-up transformers connected to the generators raised the voltage from 11,800 to 132,000. The circulating water system was able to meet a full load demand of 324,000 gallons per minute.
